Just want to make sure everyone’s aware that this is the final weekend members of the public can vote in the big Canstruction Orange County 2019 competition, which benefits the Orange County Food Bank. The competition is simple: nine teams drawn from design and engineering firms around Orange County constructed very large sculptures out of cans of food. You can read about the contest and entries in this recent OC Weekly story by Dave Barton.
You can find entries in three locations throughout OC: South Coast Plaza (3333 Bear St., Costa Mesa), ARTIC (2626 East Katella Ave., Anaheim) and John Wayne Airport (18601 Airport Way, Santa Ana). After you view the entries, you can go online to this OC Foodbank webpage to vote. Since the whole thing is a fundraiser for the foodbank, a contribution as low as $1 will allow you to vote. The team with the most cash donations at the end of voting will win the “People’s Choice” award.
Voting will end at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. The structures will remain on display through Sept. 29, after which the cans that make them up will get donated to the Orange County Food Banks.
