Lightning In a Bottle fans rejoice! This weekend, The Do Lab is making a triumphant return to Oak Canyon Park with a funky little festival dedicated to those who love to get their woogie on.
Woogie Weekend, a three-day extravaganza blending beats, food, yoga and live art, is an expansion of LiB's beloved Woogie stage. “The Woogie was built on great music, amazing people and radical self-expression,” said Do LaB and LiB co-founder, Dede Flemming.

Reconnecting with the original foundation the Woogie stage was built on, the Flemming brother's return to Oak Canyon Ranch sheds light on how solid they are at creating a community centered on commemorating music. “The Woogie Stage is about the people, the music and the fun design of the stage,” said Flemming. “We're simply plugging those same elements into this event,” he said.
While other Do LaB events thrive on creating and participating in multi-dimensional experiences, Woogie Weekend thrives on simplicity. “Woogie Weekend puts a lot of the emphasis on the music and the atmosphere around the stages,” said Flemming. “LiB is full of countless elements that allow you to get lost in the experience, while Woogie Weekend is mostly all there right in front of you,” he said.
In typical Do LaB fashion, however, the line up is filled from top to bottom with stellar acts, including Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream series, as it takes over its own stage on Sunday. Another reunion worth catching over the weekend is French Express, made up of Jonas Rathsman and Moon Boots, as they'll be pumping out some of the freshest electronic sounds along side Rüfüs Du Sol, Autograf, Adam Freeland and Alexi Delano.
If you've been to the Woogie Stage at LiB, you already know what you're in for. But if this is your first experience with the Woogie, expect an amalgamation of all that's visual, audible and eclectic. Additionally, there's even going to be a massive slip n' slide laid out along the green Oak Canyon pastures. And let's face it: Any time a slip n' slide's involved at a music festival, it's safe to anticipate an exhilaratingly weird weekend.
With sun soaked days and crystal clear evening skies in the forecast, the reunion of the Do Lab with Oak Canyon Ranch is the perfect omen for the first annual Woogie Weekend. “We had a great experience at Oak Canyon for the three years we did LIB and always loved this venue,” said Flemming. “We wanted to start a new smaller event and couldn't think of a better place to have it and are excited to be back!”
