Louisa May Alcott's beloved coming-of-age tale about the four March sisters comes to the Chance Theater this month, this time re-imagined as a festive holiday musical. So revisit these familiar literary darlings—beautiful and maternal Meg, tomboy Jo (a new kind of character for the 1870s and the general favorite among readers), shy and sickly Beth, and fair little Amy—as they navigate their way from childhood into womanhood. The theater's performance of Little Women is a wholesome, sweet, family-friendly way to ease yourself into the packed theater schedules of the coming holiday season. Directed by Chance resident artist Casey Long, with music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 & 7 p.m. Starts: Nov. 16. Continues through Dec. 23, 2012
