Every year, the Long Beach Q Fest hosts screenings of films by and about the LGBT community. And over the last several years, the fest has skyrocketed in appeal—so get ready, because this weekend the annual event comes back to the Art Theatre. Presented by the Center (a group started in 1977 to support and discuss gay and lesbian causes and issues), the festival will include independent films submitted by people from all over, special world-premiere music video screenings, award-winning feature films and parties galore. It’s like a mini-Sundance but with better weather and a lot less attitude.
