Prior to the introduction of pop music to the realm of cinematic soundtracks, every film's score was composed and orchestrated from scratch, and many of our culture's most enduring themes were created to lend emotional backup to the moving image. Pacific Symphony Pops are presenting a selection of some of these classic pieces during their Night on the Red Carpet series, including Ben-Hur , Lawrence of Arabia , Pinocchio , To Kill a Mockingbird , Forrest Gump and E.T. Best of all, you get to enter the Performing Arts Center on a real red carpet, just like your favorite Hollywood stars, except hopefully without quite as many substance-abuse problems.
