Luis Pineda, Accused Rapist, Does the Courthouse Shuffle

Though a common court house slogan reads “Justice is Blind,” a more accurate slogan would  be “These things take time– even if the suspect is a psychopathic accused super-rapist.” The trial of 31-year-old accused child molester and rapist Luis Pineda was scheduled to begin today in Orange County Superior Court, but an official with the Orange County District Attorney's Office says the defense has filed for a continuation.

Pineda, who faces dozens of charges involving lewd acts on children under 14 stemming from his time as a karate instructor and soccer coach in Fullerton, will be in court again Thursday.

“Pineda is accused of befriending 8-year-olds John Doe #1 and John Doe #2, and earning the trust of the boys' parents while he was their soccer coach and karate instructor,” read a DA press release following Pineda's arrest in August of 2010.
Pineda taught karate at Moo Ye Do Karate Studio and coached the Fullerton Eagles who practiced at Woodcrest Elementary and Sycamore Junior High Schools
But since then, Pineda's case file has grown thanks to an influx of accusers. The Daily Titan reported today that Pineda is now charged with 30 crimes involving ten male victims and one female victim including the rape of an adult male.
With what would appear to be non-discriminating tastes, one has to wonder why Pineda would want to file for a continuation when he could just give up, go to jail, and get the party started.
