Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Or the original is just too damn expensive. If you yearn for the post-grunge days when Matchbox Twenty and Nickelback ruled the Top 40 airwaves but don’t have the dinero to watch the real thing, then we have the concert for you! Tribute bands Matchbox Twenty Too and Nickelband will serenade audiences, belting hits like “How You Remind Me” and “Unwell.” The boys from the bands— Jerry Kulczyk, Neal Shelton, Brandon Shelton, and James Schultz from Huntington Beach-based Nickelband, and Jon Berghouse, Obed Herrera, Ozzie Mancinelli, Eric Schink, and Joshua Taylor of San Diego’s Matchbox Twenty Too –will have you feeling like busting out your favorite flannel and banging your once-a-week washed hair to some classic late ‘90s jams. Lace up your favorite boots and stomp over for some fun that’s almost-as-good-as-the-original.
