Hang with Peter Murphy? Who Wouldn't!

Usually “VIP packages” are shameless ripoffs, but here's one that's seriously enticing: for Peter Murphy's June 8 show at the House of Blues Anaheim, $100 will get you not only a seat in the loge section (alright), a “limited edition poster” (yawn) and early entry into the venue (eh), but also a meet-and-greet with the Murphster himself (whoa!). On sale now

Now, there are a lot of musicians that would probably be complete bores to meet (and greet) in person, but the lead singer of Bauhaus? The godfather of goth? The guy that gave the world “Bela Lugosi's Dead” and “Cuts You Up”? The man who has been known to sing upside down while in a crucifix position? That's an opportunity very difficult to pass up.

I tried to find a video on YouTube of his “Bela Lugosi's Dead” performance at Coachella in 2005, but the only one available had the dreaded “embedding disabled by request.” But why watch him sing in the Indio desert in front of a bunch of sweaty hipsters when you can watch him perform that song in Berlin?
