INCOMING: Blink-182, Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

Despite some conflicting reports on the matter, Weezer is coming to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine with Blink-182 (pictured) on Sept. 17, as confirmed today by Live Nation.

This is, of course, the first Blink-182 tour since their 2005 breakup, which led to largely uninspiring projects like +44 and Angels N Airwaves (apologies to any of you who may have indeed been inspired by those bands. You could do better). Will time be kind to Blink's songs about being in high school and goofing around, or were they seem even lamer given that they're now even further into their 30s? We'll find out soon!

Weezer was just at Verizon a little more than a week ago for the KROQ Weenie Roast, but if you missed that, hey, they're back! Also opening: Taking Back Sunday and Asher Roth; depending on your perspective, either the next Eminem or the Eminem that's like Michael Keaton in Multiplicity after one of the clones cloned himself and the clone came out retarded.

Tickets are on sale this Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m.; Live Nation has no ticket prices listed, but the press release says “tickets start at just $20!” And then get progressively higher, as things usually go. The press release also promises that Blink is “vowing to give fans the best value for their dollar.” They're looking out for us! And it looks like they're putting their mouths where are money is, so to speak: $20 is inclusive of ticketing fees, tax, parking, etc.: a 20 dollar bill will get you on the lawn. That's kind of awesome.
