From last week's cops blotter (not online) in the Huntington Beach Independent:
Melody Lane: Someone reported finding graffiti saying, “Mama is going to put all of her fears into you,” on an easement wall in the 16100 block at 7:59 a.m.
Los Patos Avenue: A caller found that someone spray painted “Mother, did it need to be so high?” on a wall in the 4700 block at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Amanda Drive at McKinney Circle: Someone painted “Mother will she break my heart? on a city wall at 11:03 a.m. Sunday.
Dorsett Drive: A city wall was found spray painted with “Mother, should I build the wall?” in the 8700 block at 3:01 p.m. Sunday.
What does it all mean? Is it an Anonymous-style stupid revolution thing? Viral marketing for the next J.J. Abrams joint? Or did some kids with that lady-tush poster (you know the one I'm talking about) get baked, listen to The Wall, and then have a momentary lapse of reason and make like animals by going to meddle with someone else's property?
“Dude, how sweet would it be if we spray painted lyrics from The Wall on… wait for it… a wall?!”
The decoder: Pink Floyd, “Mother.”
