Santa Ana's Aushua Added to Next Month's 'LA 101'

A festival-type show on a Tuesday? Hey, sure, why not? That's the day of LA 101, a concert put on by our sister paper, LA Weekly, up north at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City.

]
It takes place November 3, with main stage headliners Silversun Pickups (local LA faves made good, big time!), Dandy Warhols (Portland's favorite enduring hipster popsters!) and Matt N Kim (piano-rockin' east coasters!).

What may be especially relevant to your interests: Orange County favorite sons Aushua, who recently-ish wrapped a national tour with Nightmare of You, will be playing the event's KROQ Locals Only stage. They'll be joined by LA bands Funeral Party and the Flying Tourbilon Orchestra.

Tickets are $25 and on sale now. But this isn't your only opportunity to see Aushua coming up, no sir–they're playing a lot closer to home next week, House of Blues in Anaheim-style, in that big ol' local show Thursday, October 29 with the Steelwells (EP release show!), the Shys, Yellow Red Sparks, the Rambles and the Color Turning. They're also opening up a couple of gigs on Huntington Beach singer/songwriter Matt Costa's upcoming SoCal run (Nov. 3 in Hermosa Beach, Nov. 8 in LA) and playing with Henry Clay People (from Yorba Linda but moved to LA, read Chris Ziegler's recent article on them here) at Detroit Bar on November 19.
