Playing the House of Blues in Anaheim is a big deal for a national touring act, but for a local band, the opportunity to gig at one of Orange County's premier venues–nestled in Downtown Disney, no less–has to be even more of a treat.

A treat that on Thursday, October 29 will be enjoyed by these six bands: headliners the Shys, perennial favorites from South County; Yorba Linda's the Steelwells, pictured, who will be celebrating the release of the album they've been working on at Fullerton's Artisans Label; Tustin/Irvine's Yellow Red Sparks, whom Nate Jackson just caught a couple days ago; Santa Ana's Aushua, who have been touring the country rather relentlessly as of late; the Color Turning, currently based in Pasadena but with roots in OC; and the Rambles, formerly known as Fun Tree.
No word yet on ticket prices, but a similar show in July at the HOB–with the Jakes, the Union Line, Venus Infers, the New Limb, Rye Douglas Band and Great Glass Elevator–was $12.50, so probably around there. October 29 is also the date of the next KUCI-booked show at the Yost, and the day Huntington Beach's Moostache is opening up for Art Brut at the Glass House in Pomona–lots of local music in the offerings that night.
