Buskerfest in Long Beach's East Village Arts District: We've given you the lowdown on what's happening, here's some more important info: Things start at 7 p.m. Cold War Kids (pictured) on main stage at 9:30 p.m. Our buddies at LA Record have a great rundown here.
E-40 at the Galaxy Theatre: Hip hop in Orange County: it does exist. Check our review of E-40's latest, The Ball Street Journal, here, and our Locals Only from this week's Weekly on opener I&I here (both by Nate Jackson!).
Star Off Machine at Fitzgerald's: We haven't written much about Huntington Beach hard rock band Star Off Machine. Or at all. In fact, we've written so little, it prompted their PR guy to post a comment on this blog from earlier today about tonight's show. But here are the facts: they won last year's OC Music Award for “best hard rock,” and this hometown show is the last one the band currently has scheduled, so fans of the harder stuff looking for something tonight best take notice.
Anna Vexa at Mirror Image Studios: You might think Anna Vexa is the name of a person. Singer-songwriter, maybe. Nope! It's a band, one playing a show at Mirror Image Studios in Anaheim tonight. $15 at the door, with Missing Glory and Gravity Core also on the bill.
Starving for Gravity at DiPiazza's: More rock! Also playing: A Dying Ember, Soul Missive. Starts at 7 p.m., for, fittingly, $7. All ages.
Bristol Sessions at Detroit Bar: You know the drill on this by now, right? Guest DJ tonight is Andy Caldwell. Residents Danny Love and Lil Brandon will also be doing their thing.
Locals Only Music Showcase at the Yost Theatre: Read about that here.
Go West Young Man, The Voyeurs, Michael Rosas at La Cave: Free show. Not too familiar with those artists at this point, but: free show!
