Tonight at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa is yet another chance for us common folk to soak in some LA hipness: Foreign Born, from our neighboring county to the south, is playing the venue. The noted LA folk-rockers have gotten tons of buzz since releasing On the Wing Now on Dim Mak in 2007. But what may be even more exciting are opening act the Veils, from London, who have caught even more buzz, if you can believe such a thing. Also fun: lead singer Finn Andrews is the son of XTC founding member Barry Andrews! Other Girls, a Cleveland band that just released their debut CD, Perfect Cities, open up the night. Sounds like a hip night, and a chance to check out some bands that could break big but your oafish friends probably still haven't discovered. So what could be better than lording your coolness over them? $12 at the door.
