Awww shiiiiiiit! It's about to get grown and sexy at the Cantina Lounge
tonight as this freshman Fullerton night spot welcomes the 90s R&B
mega duo K-Ci and Jojo (two of the founding members of Jodeci) to the stage. First of all, where the hell have
these guys been? Second of all, what the hell are they doing in
Fullerton? Well, turns out they haven't been quite as AWAL as most
people think.
Of course, K-Ci's 2006 Solo album My Book flew pretty far under the radar and the groups 2008 album Love
incurred pretty much the same fate. But you know you still have a place
in your heart for these guys. Just try to pretend that you don't know the
hook to their 1998 chart topper “All My Life”. Like that wasn't your
favorite slow jam during the Clinton administration.
The duo
will be giving a special guest performance during the going away party
for one of the clubs most reputable song selectors, DJ Boogi (where
he's going, we have no idea). Best of all, it's only a $10 cover. The
whole thing kicks off around 9 p.m.
Okay, we get it, it's
raining and you probably don't feel like driving anywhere fun. But
seriously folks, $10 bucks for some of the most soulful, panty-dropping
vocal riffage ever to hit the Billboard. You really shouldn't miss
this.
