TONIGHT: Lots of Stuff! Frank Black at Detroit Bar, Venus Infers at eVocal, Steelwells at DiPiazza's

A lot of neat shows going on around town tonight. Let's look at some of them, eh?

We told you this week in the Weekly about Grand Duchy, the latest project from Frank Black, y'know, the frontman for the Pixies (I've heard they're good!). Doug Wallen's article is here, and that show is tonight at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. It's his new duo with his wife, Violet Clark–they're both pictured. Aww. $15 at the door.

Right across the street, perennial local faves Venus Infers are playing eVocal with Hello Vegas and others. That one's 7 bucks. The band has created a video commercial thingy to promote the show, and here it is, if you're curious:

Up in Long Beach, two Orange County bands–Huntington Beach's Moostache, currently co-residence'ing up Mondays at Detroit Bar, and Yorba Linda's the Steelwells–are playing DiPiazza's, along with Moonshine, Beautiful Anguish, and the “Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque Troupe. Alrighty.
