Yes, sir–it's the third week of the OC Music Award Showcases over at Detroit Bar (after next week, they move to Chain Reaction). Looks like it should be an interesting show, with a little quirkier line-up than last week's more straight-forward affair. Irvine's Faded Paper Figures open up; they cite Tahiti 80 and Trash Can Sinatras among their influences and are essentially a great reason to get there on time (9 p.m. sharp, folks!). The sweet male-female pop of Oliver Jane (featuring Oliver and, yes, Jane) follows, then the Locals Only-approved Matt Kollar N the Angry Mob (pictured). Rounding out the night is Santa Ana's The Vessel Tongue.
