So now that 2010 is more than halfway over, we can officially look back on the past decade and categorize the music, art and fashion as a certain style (like the ’80s, just not as obnoxious). So before VH1 airs another installment of I Love the New Millennium, perhaps you’ll take in some sophisticated culture (i.e., not pop) at the Orange County Museum of Art’s “New Art for a New Century: Contemporary Acquisitions 2000-2010.” Featuring more than 90 works by artists from around the world, the collection includes sculptures, major paintings, video installations and paper works that promise to be fascinating —even without Doug Benson making witty comments in the background.
Wednesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: May 20. Continues through Sept. 19, 2010
