The media and the heiress

Q: How many LA Times reporters does it take to put out a Paris Hilton story?

A: Twelve, if you count the staffers who contributed to the report. (Their names are on the bottom of today's article.)

Aside:
Last night, at an Online News Association panel at the Times, panelist Andrew Breitbart (of Drudge and Huffington Post fame) justified the media's obsession with Hilton, calling her an ambassador for our culture.

But then again, there are still folks wondering why this sort of thing is more important than . . . you know, Darfur.
