We, for one, are not happy with this heat wave of sorts. It needs to go away and it needs to tap its friend autumn on the shoulder to come the hell back. But anyway: So what'd you do this weekend? Was it as action-packed and fascinating as ours?
First off, we caught Weezer, Blink-182 and Taking Back Sunday live at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Thursday and Friday. While we're the first to admit that Weezer's uh, not so Weezer-like anymore, we still love them to bits. Seriously. Just take a look at Rivers Cuomo up there, lookin' more like Rick Moranis than Rivers Cuomo. Faaantastic. See the rest of the photos right here.
After the jump: Chocolate souffles and twist balloon hats a plenty at the Annual Taste of Newport at Fashion Island and the Psychedelic Furs and Happy Mondays stirring up some fond, fond memories.

The Psychedelic Furs and Happy Mondays hit the House of Blues on Saturday, playing all the hits… or, actually, Happy Mondays didn't play “24 Hour Party People” for some reason. What's that all about? Click here for the rest of the slideshow!
Theeeeen it was time for the Taste of Newport, an annual homage to food on Saturday and Sunday. Patrons enjoyed tons of food from area restaurants (like the above gal from Chronic Tacos)
in addition to musical entertainment. On 9/20, David Cook performed–and we know how much you people go crazy over the Cook. More photos here!
