They call it adult puppet theatre, but does that mean you’re gonna see the Muppets really go wild? No, actually, and not just because that’d infringe on at least two established intellectual properties. Instead, the people pulling the strings at the Puppet Asylum—can we get away with a marionette joke in a puppet pick?—present themed comedy nights drawing from members of the local puppeteering community, with this “Game Show” night promising pop-culture overload and audience-sourced trivia questions designed to put even the most erudite puppet on the spot. It’s homegrown, local and happily one-of-a-kind, and certainly the most conceptually engaging improv puppet game show night you’ll see all week.
