Like how the Thompson Twins were neither related nor named Thompson, the “karma” is as ambiguous as the fact that they don't serve alcohol (and that they close by 10 p.m.). Mick's has a number of factors going against it, even before we try to explain where this is located on the ground floor of an Irvine office complex. But they do everything else so right.
Yes, we featured Michael Schepers in this week's On the Line. Call this bonus exposure, but have you tried the signature burger? Better yet, order the combination.

For under eight bucks, locals won't find a more quality cheeseburger. Discussed in depth during part one of our interview, Mick breaks down all the components and the purposes they serve. Part mad scientist, part philosophical restauranteur, he treats the Karma burger with utmost respect. The man knows it's the foundation of his social media following.
While we admittedly order ours with bacon (because a friend insists that I should), the best parts in this equation are beef and sauce. Maybe it has something to do with the meat being freshly ground. Others may find the Sambal-flavored condiment to be most integral. It ranks right up there with our love for Haven's version, but without the commute.
Those steak fries and strawberry-basil lemonade mojito iced tea make our meal complete. It was only a matter of time before one of us Weeklings mentioned it. And now that they're open seven days a week, the only thing left to decide is when we'll consume our next one.
