Everyone talks about eating more simply, more healthfully. Everyone talks about going to the farmers market and eating more fruits and vegetables. Then they go to restaurants and get fried meat, fried potatoes, fried fried fried, and fruit only in syrup mode.
Gross.
It's different on Sunday evenings, though. Sundays seem to have become family-style dining night, a time when chefs can make one menu and send it out to all the tables at once, and I keep finding myself at the Sunday Farmers Market Feast at Anaïs+, the dinner party within Picnics Kitchen.

Every week, a different person cooks with Anaïs Tangie using produce,
meat and fish from the SoCo Farmers Market that takes place on Saturday.
Last week, David Kim and Anaïs made a Japanese-inspired meal that
included miso salmon, sprout salad with grapefruit and avocado, pork
belly, squid ink garlic noodles, cheese grits, and a nectarine granita.
You
take the portion you want and pass it down; there are plenty of fruits
and vegetables. Bring your own wine or buy it by the glass; sit and make
friends. Love it. They also cook on Monday nights, and on Wednesdays
Anaïs and Tara Simon of the Sticky Pig (a woman who can knock out 90
pullups in the time it takes most of us to tie our shoes) cook paleo
food for all the Crossfit people.
