Van Morrison might want to consider tweaking the lyrics to “Brown Eyed Girl.” People may soon be going blue.
Dr. Gregg Homer of Laguna Beach-based Stroma Medical claims he can do what once only seemed possible with Sims characters–change the color of one's eyes. Though laser technology, he says, brown eyes can be switched to blue with a 20-second procedure that removes a layer of pigment from the irises, revealing what's been there all along–a blue hue.
According to KTLA, Homer has been working on the method for 10 years, and tests have shown no indication of tissue damage.

The procedure is permanent and irreversible, and it cannot turn blue eyes brown, but that's okay because the company has found that far more brown-eyed people want blue eyes than the other way around.
Homer tells KTLA, “A blue eye is not opaque, you can see deeply into it, and a brown eye is very opaque. I think there is something very meaningful about this idea of having open windows to the soul.”
The procedure will cost about $5,000, and is estimated to be available outside the United States in 18 months, and in the U.S. in three years.
Hello, I’m a senior citizen, at age 65, with no previous eye problems of any kind. Is it possible that this laser procedure can improve eyesight for reading? My eye color is hazel-brown; I can see the flecks in my eyes. From childhood, my favorite color is sky blue! I’m an American gentleman. Although I am not Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian or Middle Eastern, I’ve been fascinated by Caucasian people, who have blue eyes!, they look so beautiful to me. I can see myself having “Blue Eyes” I’m sure that I would attract more attention too! Positively speaking, I am a black man whose educated and employed. I’m thinking now that I should live the rest of my natural life having blue eyes, lol! I think I would still look handsome, what do you think Doctor?
