What makes this week’s Grub Guide more special than usual? All the businesses covered were hatched in Orange County. From baked goods and fro-yo to crispie burgers and steak frites, your taste buds will be quite satisfied by our coverage. Maybe it’s time to get a new pair of eating pants?

Moulin 2020 Goals – Dana Point and Irvine

Restaurateur Laurent Vrignaud recently announced the ongoing expansion of Moulin, with two more locations already in the works. His devotion to OC is strong, as he plots his fifth spot towards the corner of Barranca and Jamboree in Irvine. Found at 75 Corporate Park, this “Moulin in the Box” will be a modest 480 square feet, yet still provide ample seating on its extensive patio. Expect the same sweets (Crepes! Pain au Chocolat!) and savories (Paninis! Salads!) we’ve grown to love over the past five years, plus espresso beverages. As for Dana Point (2 Ritz Carlton Dr.), springtime will welcome this 100-seat establishment with full menu comforts of Newport Beach, plus all the authentic French furnishings Vrignaud’s brand is known for at both upcoming locales. www.moulin.com.

Did You Hear About The Guild Club? – Costa Mesa

From the owners of ARC and ARC Butcher & Baker, this previously reservations-only club has evolved to allow the public access during dinner hours, seven days a week. Proper coverage by our food and drink team is forthcoming, but take advantage of this additional cocktail option before everybody else figures it out. Doors open at 5 p.m., and we suggest ordering the Girlfriend (It changes daily.). 3321 Hyland Ave., www.theguildclub.com.

Blackmarket Bakery Represents on Chopped!

Tune in Tuesday, October 15 to Food Network’s Chopped and check out OC’s very own Rachel Klemek, Blackmarket Bakery’s owner and resident rock star pastry chef, as she competes during their Sweets Showdown! It’ll air at 9 p.m. (with a repeat later in the evening), so set your DVR or sit your bum down before showtime with your favorite dessert. You! Can! Go! All! The! Way! www.blackmarketbakery.com.

Yogurtland Artisanal Collection: Ube!!

Launched on Monday and for a limited time, the literal flavor of the month is none other than the ever growing popular taste of Ube. With so many locations, we think it’s about time you stopped in to your local Yogurtland. We’re curious to see how it compares to the mixed reviews of Trader Joe’s ice cream version. www.yogurt-land.com.

But can we add another flavor? Photo courtesy Gelato Paradiso.

Gelato Paradiso Celebrates the Sweet Life – Newport Beach only

The 20th anniversary of this local brand is being celebrated next Wednesday at Fashion Island. Free small gelatos (or sorbettos) will be scooped between 6-9 p.m. to mark the occasion. In addition, there’s a raffle to be one of five to win free gelato for a year! Bonus: five additional winners will be chosen at each of their other locations in Laguna Beach, Coronado and San Diego. With upwards of 30 flavors to choose between, it’s still comparable to those dessert shops in Italy. Wish them a happy 20, and show some love to that tip jar. 401 Newport Center Dr., Ste. A102, (949) 718-9800; www.gelatoparadiso.com.
