We are digging this week's roundup. From oysters to coffee and even tacos, we're reporting events in all our favorite cities! And the best part is that none of these events conflict, meaning you can potentially hit them all. So go ahead— we dare you.
EMC Seafood and Raw Bar Grand Opening – Irvine
They may have been open for a while now, but the official ribbon cutting happens today at 11:30 a.m. Join in on the specials, as children 12 and under eat free from the Kids menu with an adult food minimum sub-total of $15. One offer per guest. In addition, Chef's choice oysters will only be $1! Both deals are for dine-in only at the EMC Irvine location.
6th Annual Taco Festival – Fullerton
Get your taco fix this Saturday, as The Fullerton Museum Center teams up with The Fullerton Sister City Association for their 6th annual festival. Participating restaurants include Tempo Urban Kitchen and Citizen Kitchen inside Hotel Fullerton. Admission is free, but to chow on food, get your tickets! Tacos will run you a single ticket, while booze in the form of margs, beer and sangria are triple the cost. Live entertainment from a mariachi band and Kid Ramos will keep things upbeat. Ilegal Mezcal will also be on site conducting tastings. Get your grub on from 5:30-9:30 p.m. See you at the museum!
The Kroft Celebrates National Sandwich Month – Tustin (only)
What could be better than fried chicken sandwiches from The Kroft? When you can get them for FREE! Celebrating the end of National Sandwich Month, they'll be handing out 50 of their beloved clucker at the Tustin location on Wednesday. We suggest getting there early to ponder the draft beer options.
The Kroft is located inside Union Market at The District. 2493 Park Ave, #2; www.thekroft.com.
Holsteins 1st Anniversary Toy Drive – Costa Mesa
Celebrating selflessly is how Holsteins Shakes and Buns wants to commemorate their first anniversary in Orange County. From August 30 through September 5, bring an unwrapped toy for charity Giving Children Hope, and they will reward you with a virgin “Birthday Cake Shake”. Their signature concoctions go especially well with those meat-and-bun combinations. Find them inside Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza.
Coming soon: Intelligentsia Coffee Pairing Dinner at Tangata – Santa Ana
Here's something we don't read enough about— a pairing dinner revolving around coffee. This four-course evening is scheduled for Friday, September 9 at the restaurant connected to The Bowers Museum. If you know your Intelligentsia, this meal is for you. Dishes include flash-cooked yellowtail crudo with an amped up Summer Solstice Cold Brew and Flecha Roja coffee-crusted steak with an Old-Fashioned infused with the same coffee.
