From Fountain Valley to Cabo San Lucas, we’ve got the scoop on good eats (and drinks!) for the next week. We even spotted not one, but two grand openings coming your way. And yes, we’ll explain Cabo shortly.
Carlos Salgado guest chefs at Manta – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
First up, our traveling chef from Taco Maria is headed to The Cape for the weekend. This resort is home to Manta restaurant and Chef Enrique Olvera. On July 1 and 2, catch a live cooking demonstration, partake in a prix fixe created by both chefs or head to the rooftop lounge for a DJ and bites from the duo. Aren’t you due for an extra long weekend?
Habit Burger Grand Opening – Irvine
Launching their third Irvine location this weekend, they’ve got three days of giveaways and fundraising to get your grill fix. Head over to 4501 Campus Drive on Friday at 11:30 a.m. or (and?) 5 p.m. for a free Charburger combo to the first 200 diners. Saturday’s lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. gives 100% of all sales to Bike MS: Bay to Bay. Then on 5 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, be one of the first 200 guests to receive a chargrilled option from a preset menu.
Milk Box Grand Opening – Mission Viejo
There’s so much deliciousness to try in Union Market Mission Viejo. Saturday marks the official grand opening of organic beverages and toasty bites from Milk Box. The first 50 guests will be gifted something special, so get there well before noon. We are fans of the playful mustache iced tea (Resist using a straw!) and an off-menu jasmine mint lime. Oh, and it’s easier to park on the lowest level and take the elevator up than circling around.
Ongoing – Motown & Mimosas at Slice Deli and Cakery – Fountain Valley
Searching for brunch options? Visit the gang at Slice for vinyl entertainment and sparkling drinks. Cinnamon swirl brioche French toast and house granola with hibiscus compote are just some of the dishy goodness you’ll experience. Served every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pizza Port 13th Anniversary Luau – San Clemente
While it makes sense for a local pizza joint to celebrate the major holiday with pizza, Pizza Port is not your average pizza place. After closing at 5 p.m. this Monday, meet them on the rooftop parking lot for some grill action. Sip on $3 and $4 craft beers while you enjoy the nearby fireworks shows. Stop by this free, family-friendly event to celebrate Pizza Port’s anniversary until 10 p.m. Cheers to another 13!
Coming Soon: OC Meets Napa & Baja – San Juan Capistrano
Happening July 16 back at Mission San Juan Capistrano, prepare for fine dining al fresco. Sip on wine and sample tastes from local establishments. All proceeds from wine tasting benefit Altamed OC Pediatrics and Breast Cancer Screenings. For more information and to purchase tickets, click over here.
Holsteins Red, White & Booze milkshake – Costa Mesa
If you are seeking a patriotic meal, stop by South Coast Plaza for your cool fix. Their Red, White & Booze milkshake is being served from Friday through Monday only. Pair with a burger, and you’re good to go! Just don’t share this berry good treat with the kidlets, because Jack Daniels.
