The Newport Beach Film Festival today released its official 2019 marquee trailer Play: The Power of Ideas, and as longtime festival goers have come to expect, it includes disturbing images that build to a head-turning ending.

Check it out:

The promotional film will roll between the cards and ads for festival sponsors and the 350 movies showing at various locations April 25 through May 2.

As was the case last year, Garage Team Mazda created the short, from a script written by their own creative director, Melissa Webber, and Daniel Bremmer. Sundance and Robert Awards winner Johan Stahl directed and REVERSE founder Thibaut Estellon served as executive producer.

“This year we celebrate our 20th anniversary, a real milestone for us,” said Todd Quartararo, Newport Beach Film Festival co-founder and director of Marketing. “Since its inception, the festival has stood for quality–from the creativity in storytelling to the production value in every aspect. Garage Team Mazda and REVERSE have surpassed our expectations and we are proud of the creative work they’ve accomplished with the film.”

Festival tickets are now on sale; visit newportbeachfilmfest.com for more information.
