Hailing from Brighton, England, the Kooks (named after a Bowie song) are currently in the States amidst a world tour. Blasting cheeky, rock-tinged pop, The Kooks’ most distinctive characteristic belongs to lead singer Luke Pritchard’s heavily-accented, slightly slurry vocals. Having scored several hit singles in the U.K., they broke through in the U.S. with their track “Naive.” Opening this night are the Whigs, a group of Georgia boys with a little more garage feel to them than their headliners. It’s sure to be a rollicking good time.
