Olivia Ooms, a rising country music singer-songwriter out of Huntington Beach, has a new single being released today with a fitting title for her: “California Country.”
She co-wrote the song with its producer, Jamie O’Neal, a platinum-selling artist in her own right and an Academy of Country Music Award-winner.
“California Country” is about the Southern flair of her West Coast roots. Sample lyrics: We light our bonfires on the sand / Bunch a Beverly Hillbillies with a tan / Staring at the same stars seen in the Deep South.
Give it a listen:
The “California Country” release follows Ooms’ single “Thoughts of You,” which earned her a spot in CMT’s Artist Discovery Program as well as national attention from Radio Disney. She tours with her band Olivia Ooms and Highway 39, and she has opened for Lady Antebellum, Old Dominion and country music icon Tanya Tucker.
