Join Irini Vallera-Rickerson, Professor of Architecture and Art History, for a lecture titled “Optimism And Opulence: The World of Art Deco.” Starting in the early 1900s and flourishing on an international level in the '30s, Art Deco was all about ornate, futuristic pieces, taking inspiration from the luxurious French Art Nouveau movement, and made its mark on architecture, fashion, cinema and art. But Deco Devotees already know that. Our imaginary dream house is entirely Art Deco, top to bottom—complete with Leonardo DiCaprio, whose only duty is to make champagne toasts.
