Breweries and brewpubs aren’t the only places to find a diverse selection of craft beer. With two locations to serve you, Out of the Park Pizza is as underrated a beer hall as you’ll find. Along with pizza, wings and plenty of big screen TVs, their Buena Park site is currently pouring 39 taps of brew from over 27 breweries, including some of your local Southern California favorites.
Death By Coconut, an American porter by Oskar Blues Brewery, goes down smooth with hints of dark chocolate and plenty of coconut—try it for dessert! From El Segundo Brewery, Mayberry IPA is hoppy but not bitter, with a 7% ABV that makes it an easy drinking beer with slight citrus notes. And Stone’s Enjoy by 02.14.16 Unfiltered IPA—can a beer taste any more balanced? It rivals Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA with its maltiness.
So many choices, but the Beer of the Week is Ritual Extra Red from Redlands. Brewed with eight varieties of malt, Red’s continues to get overlooked in these years of IPAs and sour beers, so it’s great to see that Out of the Park Pizza knows their beer. And for snacking? No Mojos at his pizza joint, but they have deep-fried pickle chips—HELL YA!!!
