Our favorite Long Beach punk rock institution goes a little bit blues-country tonight with their headlining act Patrick Sweany. A choice player on the All-American Nashville scene, Sweany first broke out in '99 with the debut release of I Wanna Tell You, a modern tribute to the spirit of old-school swampy blues. Black Keys fanatics, take note: in addition to opening for the band, Sweany has collaborated with Dan Auerbach more than once, and his sound fits right in with that back-leaning, wild guitar and drums sound—like the Keys often do, Sweany also chooses to skip the bass. Check him out as he visits Alex's Bar and welcome a little bit of the South to SoCal.
