Pizza Hut Introduces Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza in The UK

Jimmy Dean's Pancake and Sausage on a Stick. KFC's Double Down. Taco Bell's Doritos Tacos. These dubious food innovations do not represent advances in food as it did just create fodder for bloggers like me and late night comedians. But the recently announced hot dog stuffed crust pizzas at Pizza Hut? I'll gladly make fun of it *AND* also not-so-secretly wish it wasn't only offered in the UK.

I barely blinked when about a year ago the company introduced a so-called “Ultimate Stuffed Crust” pizza, wherein cheese, sausage and pepperoni found its way into the crust. It was itself an escalation and natural evolution of what Pizza Hut started in 1995 with the original cheese-stuffed crusts. But this? This is a mutation–a deviation of the idea that goes so far into the wrong, it's, well, kind of right.
Perhaps I think of it in different terms than you might: It takes what's one of my favorite Asian bakery items (those bread or croissant-encased hot dogs) and attaches a pizza to it. Either way, it's like the mythical griffin, a hybrid that I can already tell is going to be a hell of a lot more fun to eat than the anti-climactic Doritos tacos and hopefully more edible than the horrible salt-shock that's the Double Down.
And it comes with a FREE “mustard drizzle,” which sounds like the frosting in an already insane cake.
