Please Let N-Word Fly When Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles Hit Costa Mesa

With Segerstrom Hall announcing it will host a live conversation with Mel Brooks and screening of his comedy classic Blazing Saddles, may we make a modest request?

Please let the n-word fly in the hoity-toity Costa Mesa performing arts venue.

See, due to political correctness so pervasive that it has even infected this very write-up, the real word that the n-word represents has been scrubbed clean from free television and basic cable showings of Blazing Saddles.

That is a shame.
Blazing Saddles does not glorify hate speech, it mocks it by putting the n-word in the mouths of the stupid, the racist … you know, morons.

That is, of course, when the n-word is not being spoken by African-American characters to describe themselves, just like in Black Jesus.

Anyway, if the un-filtered Blazing Saddles does ride into Segerstrom Hall in March, it will surely represent the widest use of the n-word ever inside the facility.

The event is set for Sunday, March 13, at 3 p.m. The screening is up first followed by the live conversation and audience Q&A with Brooks. Tickets, which start at $49, went on sale Sunday. “A very limited number of VIP meet and greet tickets will be available,” according to the venue at 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. Visit SCFTA.org or call 714.556.2787 to get 'em—and don't even try to flash your fake student I.D., Hedley.
