The last time our food blog discussed Dave Emery, it was nothing but praise for the mad scientist back in 2011. His restaurant shuttered its doors in 2014, but Emery’s presence lives on. Thanks to @chickybaby007, one of our favorite tipsters, we’ve got his whereabouts— and it’s somewhere in Irvine.
He’s currently with Intrigue Supper Club working on a second popup collaboration (We missed the first one?!) for this Saturday. The all-inclusive, wine pairing dinner is scheduled to occur from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. in an undisclosed location. Highlights include lightly grilled local white fish on espresso black olive puree with preserved lemons and kalamata dust. We are salivating over Labrusca panko crusted Concord grape lamb ribs with labneh. Savory dessert fans might like Tuscan figs in rum, Tuscan chestnut honey and Pecorino.
Tickets are $75 per person. Those interested should email Emery directly at

. And to get acquainted with chef, here’s Edwin’s 2011 review of Sol Del Sur.
