The Friday morning following Thanksgiving always goes the same way: wake up with a food hangover, curse that fourth helping of pecan pie, and realize there's no way you're stepping foot into any kind of store without fighting off a giant mob until January. So this year, take a different route with the “Hike Off Your Thanksgiving Feast” and picnic at the Richard and Donna O'Neill Conservancy. Avoid the manic crowds and enjoy fresh air and nature's beauty while simultaneously burning off part of the previous night's decadence. Participants are encouraged to bring Thanksgiving left-overs (or anything else you'd like) for a post-hike picnic under oak trees. Remember to stretch beforehand, the fitness level is deemed “moderate to strenuous.” Registration required. See website for additional rules.
