It is a rare thing in this world to find people who are living their childhood dream and truly excelling at it. Ralphie May is one of those people. At just 17-years-old, May won a contest to open for his idol, Sam Kinison. Today, 25 years later, May continues the dream by headlining comedy venues, entertaining audiences with his side-splitting standup routine. You may have seen him before, yucking it up on Jimmy Kimmel Live, on Last Comic Standing and in the pages of Variety where he was named one of “10 Comics to Watch.” Or perhaps his name rings a bell from recent appearances on the news—he was arrested for marijuana possession in Guam after stopping to pet one of the airport’s drug-sniffing dogs. But regardless of where you’ve seen May before, you should see him again as he performs at the Irvine Improv this weekend.
