Location, location, location. It works for real estate and for throwing a good party. Every Thursday, DJs take control of the heated outdoor patio at the Reef Lounge for an evening of ass-shaking tunes ranging from reggae, funk and hip-hop to ’80s, house and techno. Like seasoned veterans, they're smart enough to begin each event with the more palatable tunes for the early crowd, while guest spinners from around the globe increase tempos as the night progresses. Before you know it, the beats are bumping, and you’re moving your hips, hoping one of the beautiful strangers across the dance floor gets so mesmerized with the breathtaking nighttime view of the Long Beach skyline that they ask you to dance. And when they don’t—hey, there’s always next week.
