In its never-ending quest to inform Orange Countians what it is up to–and what they can do to help–Orange County Food Bank has partnered with a start-up website dedicated to connecting local eaters, restaurateurs and grocery stores.
Started by foodie Anthony Bigos, the free online news service Foodbite.com strives to “help people broadcast, discover and share up-to-the-minute news and information happening around the corner and around the world.”
Orange County Food Bank director Mark Lowry believes Foodbite can help spread the word about how people can get involved with the nonprofit, which distributes 19 million pounds of food annually to 23,000 needy residents. “We hope that people who are passionate about good food will also be passionate about helping those without,” Lowry says.
“Good things will come of this relationship,” adds Bigos.
