Rihanna and Cee Lo Green at the Honda Center is a curious double bill: pop stars with an R&B bent, but with very different public personas. Despite Rihanna’s unfortunate tabloid headlines following the 2009 domestic-violence case involving then-boyfriend Chris Brown, she has managed to keep a relatively low profile and degree of mystique, especially when compared to such flashy frequent collaborators as Kanye West. Cee Lo, though, couldn’t be more visible as one of the coaches of NBC’s current talent show, The Voice. But all they really need to have in common is undeniable commercial success: “Fuck You,” sanitized or not, was pretty much the unofficial anthem of 2010, and Rihanna recently became the youngest artist in Billboard history to have 10 No. 1’s.
