Yesterday, Urb.com called it: Lauryn Hill would be performing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in its
entirety at Guerilla Union's veritable hip-hop fest, Rock the Bells. When the lineup was announced at the Key Club in Hollywood last night, Rock the Bells announced other artists performing classic albums in their entirety (Slick Rick, the Great Adventures of Slick Rick; Krs-One, Criminal Minded; Rakim, Paid In Full; The Wu-Tang Clan, Enter the 36 Chambers) but no Lauryn Hill (officially, anyway). There are “special guests on the bill,” though, so see what MTV.com has to say about that after the jump.

MTV.com
reports that “the tour announcement mentions 'special guest' Lauryn Hill, but does
not elaborate on what role the former Fugees and solo star will play on
the tour.” The organizers probably scrapped her name off the lineup because of flake issues. I mean, have you guys seen anything Hill has done
recently that didn't spell out b-a-t-s-h-i-t-c-r-a-z-y? She's been known to schedule concerts and have fans waiting for hours at a time, then not go onstage at all.
Still, It's interesting that Rock the Bells is going by way of Pitchfork
and asking artists to recreate their seminal work live. In a later Urb.com
post, Rza stated that the Wu Tang Clan is excited to be performing 36
Chambers. The clincher? He also said that his son is their first
choice to fill in ODB's part.
Also on the bill: Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello's side project with the
Coup's Boots Riley, Street Sweeper Social Club. Murs & 9th Wonder, Wiz
Khalifa, the Clipse, Immortal Technique, Brother Ali, Jedi Mind Tricks,
Supernatural, DJ Muggs with Ill Bill, Big Sean and Yelawolf will also be performing.
Rock the Bells will be at San Bernardino's The Nos Center on Saturday,
Aug. 21.
