LA’s Rumspringa have been plugging around for a few years now, recently enlarging from a duo exploring a blues-meets-post-punk style reminiscent of Cold War Kids to a formidable foursome doing flamethrower rock ‘n’ roll (“Queer Eyed Boy”) and propulsive indie (“Sway”) and countrified psych-pop (“Shake ‘Em Loose Tonight”) that could make easy connections with not just fans of CWK but with devotees of vintage Entrance Band, the Growlers and Devendra Banhart. And they do a ferocious and faithful Seeds cover, too! It’s nice to see this sort of robustification happen—now cower before the power of Rumspringa!
