The Santa Ana Police Department holds a DUI/drivers license checkpoint tonight from 8:30 through 2 a.m.
It will be conducted in the area of 1000 North Harbor Blvd., Santa Ana, according to an SAPD advisory.
The checkpoint will be staffed by officers trained in the detection of alcohol AND drug impairment, and California’s recreational pot law is no excuse for impaired driving. Well, it might be an excuse, but it’s not one that will have you avoiding the ton of shit (fines, lawyer fees, possible lost work) that comes with a DUI citation.
Checkpoint funding comes from a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
