Just Friends, the new debs on the block, host a Fire Hunk Bachelor Bid at which you will find me. Five firemen will be for sale, and the bidding is expected to be fierce. The auction benefits the Costa Mesa Firefighters Association Widows N Orphans Fund, which I'm sure Just Friends totally cares about, and it's in no way an excuse to make firemen dance like veal. 5:30-7:30 p.m. $15. Yes, it's up in LA, but I've seen The Los Angeles Philharmonic performing the music of composer John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl, and it was flat-fucking-fantastic. His music is classic American grand (the theme from Superman, etc.), and it's stirring like you wouldn't believe. Checked SqueezeOC's website calendar for something for you to do today, but they said Christopher Titus, Caroline Rhea, Kevin Nealon, John Heffron, Dennis Miller, Richard Jeni, Harland Williams, Tommy Davidson and about 70 other people were all playing the Irvine Improv tonight, which would be the most amazing lineup ever, if only it were true. Oh, except for Caroline Rhea, who is there. She's funny. You'd like her. But I say just head to Peppino's. Tons of electricians are there for the stalking.
