Lots of bands like to cite Niravana as an influence. Whether Canadian trio Shemp do the same or not, they actually have the angsty Nirvana sounds coursing through their six stringed instruments. This isn't to say they're a bunch of grungy clones. Singer Daryl Jenkins spouts his lyrics in a soft croon reminiscent of psychedelic shoe gazers the Stone Roses. The overall sound is crunchy, crusty and sort of compelling.
