Since he burst onto the outlaw country scene in the early 2000s, Shooter Jennings has always done things his way. Unlike some other children of country icons, Jennings hasn’t lived off his famous last name. Instead, he’s carved out a solo career on his own terms, which, to date, includes six solo studio albums. On the business side, the LA-dwelling singer recently started his own label, BCR Records—and since that formation, Jennings has treated fans to remastered material and rarities from his famous parents, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, as well as other artists of his choosing. When Jennings and his merry band invade the Slidebar for BCR Saturdays, fans are treated to jam sessions between the singer/songwriter and the BCR Band, surprise guests and a free vinyl giveaway. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Saturdays, 3 p.m. Starts: April 5. Continues through April 19, 2014
