God bless the Flying Burrito Brother's Chris Hillman (he of Byrds fame) for seeing, through the haze of smoke at some local D.C. club, the true life and breath of America's favorite cosmic songstress, Emmylou Harris. A single mother living with her parents at the time, the already silver maned Emmylou was just desparate and just brilliant enough to sing with Gram Parson on his inimitable Grievous Angel LP mere weeks before he accidentally off'd himself in a state of drippy oblivion. Come see a Grammy award winning singer who is still very much alive as she harmonizes and fret-dances with some other notable bluegrass greats: Ricky Skaggs and Del McCoury.
