The fire has stayed roughly the same size due in part to the increase of fire personnel on the ground and in the air. The number of fire fighters working in Silverado more than doubled overnight, growing from around 200 to 738 at the last count. There are also 15 aircraft — 10 helicopters and 5 fixed wing planes — currently dropping water and fire retardent on the flames.
No firefighters have been serious injured while fighting the fire. Three have been treated for minor, heat exhaution-related injuries. No structures have been damagedeither, and the fire is still burning north, away from the houses in Silverado, according to Cleveland Nationa Forest Spokesperson Tauhir Jones. Several roads remain closed in the area however, and the fire knocked out some of Southern California Edison's equipment, cutting power to about 400 residents in the area. Residents who lives east of 30331 Silverado Canyon Road are required to evacuate.
Residents who are unable to reach their homes can go to El Modena high school, 3920 E. Spring St. in Orange, where a reception center has been set up.
