When professional skaters, a group renowned for flexing their middle fingers to society, give back to the community, it's a good thing. This weekend, the fine folks at Long Beach Skate Co. flex their heart muscles as they hold an art show to benefit Autism in Long Beach, a non-profit group providing support services to families dealing with the disorder. While the event features work from 11 artists using skate decks as their medium, the show centers around the work of skateboarding legend and US Bombs frontman Duane Peters. Long Beach Skate Co. has an established history of community service and has worked with several charitable organizations benefitting young people both locally and as far away as South Africa. So hop on deck and check it out.
